Mom Spot: Mile High Mamas

So what's going on at Mile High Mamas? Well, if you're a Colorado mama like me, shame on you for not knowing! But seriously, with the Denver Deal, great blogs, lists of summer activities, giveaways, and advice from Mama Drama are all reasons why you should really be checking out this online community for moms. I do occasionally show up there with a guest blog and try to leave helpful comments when possible and applicable (no one likes someone who has something to say about everything.)

Here's a LINK to a cute posting about gifts kids can make mom for mothers day. Yeah, I get that you're the mom and someone else should be talking to your kids about doing this. But that's life, right? Slowing down and taking some times to do crafts with your kids could be the best part of the gift. Smile and enjoy!

Frisco's Wassail Days

Friends,
I'm so excited to bring you the details of this family event in Frisco, Colorado! Nothing says Christmas like getting up into the beautiful Rocky Mountains and celebrating the holidays nestled in a cozy town with your closest friends and family. Fresh snow. Lighted trees. Sleigh rides. Visits with Santa.
And it all starts with the Santa Dash for Cash - a 1K "fun run" in which all participants must wear Santa gear! The run is TOMORROW and when you register at www.wassaildays.com you will receive a Frisco Santa shirt, a Santa hat and at the end of the run you will receive a stocking full of goodies including Wassail Cash (the official currency of Wassail Days that can be used at local restaurants and retailers) and a FREE pass for a ½ hour of tubing at the Frisco Adventure Park Tubing Hill. What a deal!!

Wassail Days is going on all week long (Dec 3-11). Start a new tradition with this annual event that has something for everyone in your family! (And, if you can&#…

Psalm 16

This Psalm has been blessing me. I pray it will bless you too. Thanks to BibleGateway.com for making it so easy to share these beautiful words with you.16 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” 3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight. 4 The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips. 5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. 7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my

C'est la Vie: The Men In Our Lives Part 3

Today's suggestions really hit two sides of the same coin. I was thinking about gifts for the "do it yourself" dad. If you're married to him (or lived with a dad like this growing up), you know what I mean. He loves a project whether it's in the house, out in the yard, or in the garage (ie. cars).

But that got me thinking, sometimes there is nothing better than a "do it yourself" gift. Something straight from the heart and made by little, loving hands. So, here are two lists: one for your man to "do" and the other for you and the kids to make. I think you'll find something that's a perfect fit!
