Heelys Product Review

We surprised our little man with a pair of Heely's for his 6th birthday last week. He couldn't have been more excited - sneakers with wheels? - what could be cooler than that??

It's been about a week and he is still trying to get the hang of them. Our strategy is slow and steady. A few minutes each day trying to help him to find his balance and figure out how to position his feet. He wasn't so hot on roller skates this summer either, so I'm not too surprised it's taking him a while.

First stop in the training process was the Heely's website for a demo and tutorial video that was helpful. It gives you the basics, but is definitely geared toward teens and adults.

Here are my thoughts:
  • Great for kids who are already prolific skaters
  • Older kids and teens will catch on quickly
  • Heely's quality is top notch
  • I love that you can take out the wheels entirely and wear as regular shoes
  • The styles and colors to choose from are impressive

Psalm 16

This Psalm has been blessing me. I pray it will bless you too. Thanks to BibleGateway.com for making it so easy to share these beautiful words with you.16 Preserve me, O God, for in you I take refuge.
2 I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord;
I have no good apart from you.” 3 As for the saints in the land, they are the excellent ones,
in whom is all my delight. 4 The sorrows of those who run after another god shall multiply;
their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out
or take their names on my lips. 5 The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
you hold my lot.
6 The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance. 7 I bless the Lord who gives me counsel;
in the night also my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord always before me;
because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken. 9 Therefore my heart is glad, and my

C'est la Vie: The Men In Our Lives Part 3

Today's suggestions really hit two sides of the same coin. I was thinking about gifts for the "do it yourself" dad. If you're married to him (or lived with a dad like this growing up), you know what I mean. He loves a project whether it's in the house, out in the yard, or in the garage (ie. cars).

But that got me thinking, sometimes there is nothing better than a "do it yourself" gift. Something straight from the heart and made by little, loving hands. So, here are two lists: one for your man to "do" and the other for you and the kids to make. I think you'll find something that's a perfect fit!
